Wet Conditions

As of this morning, we have received 2.1" of rain since this past Friday night; which has made the golf course very wet. Up until this rainfall event, the staff was doing a great job getting the rough under control. From last Wednesday through Friday, the staff was able to mow all the rough on the course plus an additional four holes. This pace of mowing was nearly three times as fast as in previous weeks when it was taking us nearly six days to make it around the golf course just one time. Then the rain came this past Friday night and did not stop until Monday afternoon; which has significantly halted any rough mowing efforts. We resumed mowing this morning and while some areas are a little wet, the staff is trying to avoid the really wet areas to minimize too much damage. I appreciate your patience while we try to get the rough back down to a manageable height again.

When its too wet to mow, the maintenance staff shifts from mowing to other projects to improve the facility. One of then projects completed yesterday was pressure washing the concrete parking area, steps, range deck and storage shed on the driving range left of hole #17. Below are a few pictures of the process.

This area looks so much better now that it has been pressure washed. This is just one of the improvements made this week. Be sure to follow our blog at cannonclubturf.blogspot.com for more information on improvements and turf related topics.

Have a great day!

Hope to see you at The Cannon Club!
