Greens Aeration
By now, most of the greens have healed from 1/4" core aeration we performed on June 3rd. This is the third year that we have performed this type of aeration and have found that the greens perform better during the summer because of our efforts. Due to the small size of the aeration cores, the staff was able to complete the aeration process in one day and has a minimal affect on putting quality.

Healing is almost complete.
The golf course maintenance staff also began solid tine aerating the tees to promote better water infiltration, relieve compaction and to allow oxygen into the soil. Below are a few pictures of the process.

This aeration was performed with 3/4" solid aeration tines and once the tees are rolled and mowed, the work we performed is barely noticeable.
We still have to solid tine aerate the tees on holes #12-18 and I hope to have the aeration completed in the next week or two.
If you have any questions about the aeration process or any other topic, please feel free to contact me at mewing@osccgolf.com.
Hope to see you at the Club,
