View from a new tee

The turf care department has been busy with winter activities.

One  project is a new tee box to lengthen hole #2.

We have hauled well over 100 tons of material to build this tee.( Yes that's correct).

The process is to build the sub-base and grade for drainage.

Second, is to determine the size of the actual tee surface.

Third, is to tie in the tee so that it fits with it's location.

This has been a challenge since the area selected for the tee  has very steep slopes.

All care must be taken to to ensure the staff can maintain the area safely and efficiently.

Fourth, bring our desired growing material, topsoil to the tee and grade to the desired depth for optimum growing conditions.

Fifth, Irrigation must be added to prevent the hard work from drought during dry periods. This includes running wire to a central irrigation box for automatic control.

This picture is the view from the tee to the fairway.

this will add approximately 65 yards to this hole.

Yes we will be removing trees for a clear shot to the fairway.
